April 26, 2006: Hey readers of my blog! A very busy Easter season has kept me from
writing lately!
Today I wanted to use this spot to ask you to pray for our webmaster,
Mike Hensley, and his family. Mike's daughter Megan and his wife
Lynn
will be going through surgery next week to transplant a kidney from
mother to daughter. You can read more about this on Meganshome.net
.
Please be in prayer for this family that:
(1) All will go well during the surgery
(2) Both mother and daughter will have a quick and full recovery
(3) That the kidney will begin working right away.
(4) That side effects from medication will be kept to a minimum.
(5) That the condition which necessitated this transplant will be/go
into remission.
(6) And that Mike, Lauren, Shane, and Christian can survive while
these
two very important people are out of their day to day routines!
(7) And most of all, that Jesus Christ would bring glory to His name
through this whole situation.
So, wherever you may be in the blogosphere or the world, please pray
for
the Hensley family!
May God bless them and you!

April 10, 2006: Just Don't Say No
Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior?
There are many ways we can answer: yes, not yet, haven't thought
about it, say what? no.
But all our responses to that question fall into two categories: yes
or no.
When it comes to rejecting Christ, almost all of us try to soften the
no. There are a few who yell, "No!" to Christ with some blasphemies
attached, but most of us just whisper "no."
You've heard the whispers,
"No, but I believe he was a good man,"
"No, but I think he was a great teacher."
"No, but he is one of many ways to God."
"No, but I appreciate His philosophy of life."
"No, but His story is the greatest story."
"No, but perhaps someday I will."
But, ultimately, a no is a no. And that "No" is really no different
than the "No" that was given to Him 2,000 years ago in Judea. Because a
No to Christ leaves us only the alternative of trying to do away with Him,
to crucify Him,to keep Him out of our picture, our world. 2,000 years
ago, No was followed by, "Away with this man!"
You see, we either accept Christ, welcome Him in, or reject Him, and
drive Him away. 2,000 years ago the crowd cried, "Crucify Him!" while a small
minority believed and accepted Him. Even "neutral" Pilate finally had to
choose which crowd he was going to heed.
Thank God, I have joined the smaller crowd...which crowd do you stand
with today?

April 3, 2006: Boycott Ford
Here on our website we have some information about many pro-family
groups that are calling for a boycott of the Ford Motor Company.
I come from a Ford family. Between my parents and I, we currently
own Ford vehicles from every decade from the 1950s to the 2000s.
In providing the links on this website to the Ford boycott
information, I'd like to clarify a few things that I think are important.
(1) Considering that Ford is suffering from the current slowdown in
the sale of its vehicles, it makes no sense to me that it would spend its
money funding such a controversial issue as gay-marriage (something
that fully 75% of Americans oppose).
(2) Ford could use this money for many wonderful charitable causes
that we all could agree are worthwhile, such as Saint Jude hospital,
Katrina assistance, or scores of other worthy goals.
(3) Ford could use this money to provide better pay or benefits for
its workers.
(4) Or Ford could use it to develop better vehicles.
Instead, Ford has chosen to fund a controversial cause, and thus
should not be surprised when controversy arises.
I found it interesting that Ford has dropped its sponsorship of the
family friendly "Thunder over Louisville" because of its business slow down, but continues to fund gay-marriage/ gay-pride events.
I encourage everyone to contact Ford and let them know that many of
their core customers are offended by their vocal stand against traditional/
biblical values. I know I for one will not be buying a Ford until
this policy is reversed.
